In Arabic, the name Deema means ‘a quiet rain’.
#Deema is the story of the rise and fall of the Arab Spring, as it is remembered by the narrator herself.
It is a story of love and unison that is plagued by the pains of a previous, fallen revolution. In order for Deema to grow and sprout and spring forward, she must acknowledge her pain first, and learn to embrace herself once again. Only then, once the soul has found peace and solace, can love sprout and fill the air.
#Deema is for those brave Middle Easterners who believe in change. It is also a bow of respect to the women who have been the catalyst for change. It is for the young and emerging souls who hope for a better life in Syria and Lebanon.
#Deema is to acknowledge, to forgive, and to rise again.
