Weighting for 23 hours
The artist states, “the borderline between isolation as punishment and meditation is very thin. This piece approaches isolation the way that is present in prisons: 23 hours of incarceration daily. The piece is submerged in black dye for 23 hours and later stabbed in the middle with a needle.”

Dead on shelf
The artist states, “this piece is the result of an extensive analysis between the way identity is formed in Ecuador and how it is highly influenced by American culture. As a society we find ways to emulate behaviours that don’t belongs to us and do not adapt to the reality of the sociopolitical events that are currently taking place.”
